Chiru Labs, the company behind Azuki and Beanz, shared exciting news about their latest project. They've joined forces with the renowned anime director Gorō Taniguchi to create a special anime series. Taniguchi, known for his work on popular anime like "Code Geass" and "One Piece Film: Red," believes this collaboration will introduce anime to new audiences.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Taniguchi said, "I joined this project because I see its potential to benefit Japan's animation industry in two ways. Firstly, it opens doors for talented Japanese anime creators. Secondly, it aims to spread awareness of Japanese animation to new audiences globally. I am confident that this project can positively impact both the web3 global industry and Japanese animation."
Azuki has also partnered with Dentsu, a leading Japanese advertising agency and anime production company, to gather top talent for the series. The plan includes releasing three complete stories with Taniguchi, each featuring its own director and character artists. This initiative aims to expand the reach of Azuki's intellectual property (IP) and connect with anime fans worldwide.
The anthology series, set to debut later this year, is part of Azuki's broader strategy to offer a variety of short and long-form content to diverse audiences. Arnold Tsang, the art director and co-creator of Azuki, expressed excitement, stating, "Working alongside Goro Taniguchi is a dream come true for us at Azuki. Together, we aim to deliver a series that not only expands the Azuki universe but also pushes the boundaries of web3-driven storytelling."
